I’ve had eczema all my life and I’ve never been more excited to try new remedies. Hopefully one or all of these work.

Wow! Never knew there were so many essential oils that could be used for eczema. This is certainly a comprehensive list!

  4. Thank you for this list. My daughter is 17 and has suffered since birth. I’ve been helping her apply a combination of olive oil, oil of oregano, lavender and geranium nightly. I’ve seen changes in the appearance of her skin in the last 2 weeks, however, the itching is not under control until she applies the oil of oregano straight to her skin…which burns for 10 minutes or so. I’m hoping some of the oils you listed will help with the itching. Thanks again.

I have suffered with eczema since birth. In the 50’s and 60’s I was lucky enough to have pediatricians who had savs made at a pharmacy. However, today it seems the only answer is cortisone. I am so lucky that my children recommended your website. I cannot wait to try some blends. Thank you for the information

  6. How come you never reply to those who have questions for you?

Hi…just wanted to say…i only suffer from eczema when I use something that doesn’t agree with my skin…i found that cutting out dishwashing soap, cleaning agents that are abrasive etc & sticking to the natural soaps, cleaning agents that one can now get that are mire freely available actually helps to keep me eczema free… something that can be added to the healing with the blend of eos is glycerine…it has been my life saver in helping heal the eczema when it is bad

        1. Hi All! I am an esthetician/aromatherapist with eczema. Dawn, detergents, bath gels, shampoos and all the OTC products contain a detergent – SLS – originally formulated as a strong commercial cleaning agent to degrease garage floors and engines. It is used everywhere because it is highly foaming and dirt cheap. Once your skin is stripped of it’s natural oil or sebum, the skin barrier is then compromised. This is my main trigger. I switched to castile soap and viola, clear skin (most of the time). CeraVe cream, not lotion, contains ceramides which help repair the skin barrier. Comfortable skin to all!

Hi, I just wanted to say that I have made the cream for weeping eczema. I was my hands alot at work and also have dermatitis. I had a lot of comments on how lovely the cream smelt when I was applying it on my breaks. It worked wonders for my skin and the redness and dryness went away quickly- I can’t remember how long to be exact. I’m about to make another pot!
As a life long suffer of eczema I have read that keeping hydrated is essential as well for dry skin conditions. I am aiming for 2 Litres of water a day and have received comments on how much my skin has improved!
Up until now I have had to rely on hydrocortisone from the pharmacy which thins the skin and is not intended for long term use- 1 week max. It makes my skin drier and the cracking of my skin worse- this cream is excellent and I’m avoiding the use of steroids!
Thank you so much for this article. I am going to experiment with the oils you have suggested for eczema 🙂

    1. Thanks for sharing Lucy. Glad you’ve had some success and wish you the best!

  8. Have you heard about
    Topical Skin Withdrawal syndrome?
It’s is a withdrawal on the skin from using steroid creams. I was wondering if you had any success with EO’s for this.
    Thank you

  9. Great Article! That’s contain really useful information.

Lavender oil can be applied on the affected area in various ways, including, preparation of own homemade eczema cream by mixing lavender oil with shea butter and coconut oil.
